I dedicate this picture to my mother.

This is his MOTHER, NOT Yashamaru. I actually could only find one picture of their mom from the actual show--and it was the photograph, so i actually ended up using Yashamaru alot for reference.

But, yeah, the idea just came to me when i thought of how i've never really seen any fanart of just Kankuro and their mom...in fact, i can't even remember their mom's name. What is it???!!! It always seems to me that Gaara steals the spotlight when it comes to their mom--and don't get me wrong, i find his story really sad.....but i always found it a little sadder that Kankuro and Temari are left out. They lost thier mother too, and they actually knew her....

I've never really drawn a little kid before, and i was shooting for a 2 or 3 year old range (i believe that's how old Kankuro was when their mom died).

The only part i don't like about this picture is the Crow doll--it ended up looking crappy because it was the last thing i did other than the lighting (which i screwed up on the doll--IT'S RADIOACTIVE, IT'S GLOWING!!!! >_< ) and i was tired so it half-a$$ed it.

One nice thing was that since the only picture they showed of her was from the neck up, i could make up her clothes. I made sure to include her shawl, though. Kankuro's outfit i just made up too.

Half hour to draw, 4+ hours to color, 1 hour to light and contrast. Colored on Corel Painter 3.

Kankuro and his mom don't belong to me, they belong to the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto. This picture belongs to me, but if you want to print it out and give it to your mom, that's fine.
